Stephanie Blythe, renowned Mezzo-Soprano and Metropalitan Star is here, at the Crane School of Music starring in Paul Siskind's new opera, "The Sailor Boy and the Falcon."
The show focuses on an old sage who has magical powers, and how she uses them to save a young sailor in 18th century Norway.
I am in the show, and I can say that there are some moments that are absolutely gorgeous. Ms. Blyth has three STUNNING arias. Last night was the last rehearsal, and Mr. Siskind was in tears. The show is everything he hoped it would be.
Opening night is tomorrow. Two representatives of the Metropolitan Opera will be here, and they will be featured in a panel discussion on Monday morning.
Stephanie will be recording two of the arias for an upcoming album.
