So last night, I went with my acting and intro to theatre classes to see SpamAlot. This was my first time back at SpamAlot since July 2005 when Tim and David and the rest of the original cast minus Hank who was off shooting Huff was still there.
Got in the city last night around 6pm went to Broadway New York bought my dad an FDNY hat and a Spring Awakening program for myself, went to dinner and then I was walking back down 44th Street past the St. James, shedding a tear for The Producers. Then these three people came out of the door near the end of the theatre where that big cast photo from The Producers is and one of them was Des McAnuff. I basically did like multiple looks to see if it was really him and it was and I was in such a state of excitement I didn't go up to him and talk to him or get a photo of him, that and I didn't want to bother him.
So, anyway show started at 8pm. There were two understudies on last night. Jonathan Hadry(sp) was out, and Chris Hoch filled in for him, Michael McGrath was out and James Ludwig filled in and they were both great. Everyone was great especially Marin Mazzie as The Lady of The Lake. What a voice she has, I was getting worried that I would be sitting through her parts saying, "I miss Sara" or "Sara was so much better", but that wasn't the case.
Alot of my fellow classmates had a good time, alot of them had no clue what SpamAlot or Monty Python and The Holy Grail was and they did say they enjoyed it and they had fun. There were a couple of people that I knew that like me were just having alot of fun and really enjoying it by laughing and applauding so hard.
One of my friends from my acting class said "You're really having a great time. I hear you laughing so hard, and you're wearing the I'm Not Dead Yet...." and I was cause I love the show and I'm such a Python nut.
The holy grail was in seat D101 and they had some great lines for trying to figure out what it meant like maybe it's a jewish saying "Die oi" or maybe it's "Doi" the thing you say when you're dumb. Alot of people in my class were like that had to be scripted or like the guy was with the show and I explained and will reexplain that he wasn't with the show and that it changes from show to show.
So all in all last night was a great night at SpamAlot.

I saw Lauren Kennedy and I remember thinking in my head, though I love Lauren Kennedy, that "I miss Sara". Thanks for the review!
