Totally amazing last night !! Crowd was SOOOO into it-

Met the nicest couple on line, that had come in from upstage NY. Wife surprised her husband with stage seats, and they really had a blast !!!

Saw Marty Thomas literally being carried into the theatre last night- looks like both ankles broken- (Here's to a speedy recovery !!)

Curtis was amazing last night !!! His vocals on "Dont Walk Away" were the best that I have heard from him !! A powerhouse !

And Kerry--- what can you say !!?? Better and better, and the crowd loved every minute of her on stage !! And truly, a very special person ! To be so talented, yet so humble, is a gift !

Did hear that Cheyenne is going to be out a month- original Playbill.com article said 10 days, I believe. Just know, Sonny is in good hands !!!

Stage seats getting harder to come by- which, I guess is a good thing !!!

Real thanks to the cast for giving their all every single performance !! You are making SO MANY PEOPLE so VERY HAPPY !!!

THAT is what theatre is all about !

That's sad to hear ! What's up with XANADU that most of their cast members were getting injured. is it bec. they are onskates. First James Carpinello then Anika Larsen then now Marty Thomas..I hope its NEVER happen to you know who ? I'm not mentioning her name bec. I don't wanna jinx her- I'm very supertitous when it comes to this...

BTW- Does Luke Hawkins do the muse part too ? His name is not even in the playbill that I had which was pre-opening day Playbills.. I hope Cheyenne comes back by August ! Let's cross our finger . And hope that no one (Xanadu cast) gets hurt anymore and be out ... Oh no !!! I cant even think about it.....j*

Yeah, three skating injuries and they've only had two months of performances.

I saw the matinée today and two audience members dropped their glowsticks. (Hold on to your freaking glowsticks people! Is that too much to ask!) I couldn't enjoy the finale until Anika picked them both up so no one would trip over them.

ETA: Jaystarr, today Luke played Young Danny, Cyclops and Featured Skater #2. His bio was one of the many inserts in my playbill from this afternoon.

Another new face: Shannon Antalan. She's covering all of Kenita's roles.

Oh, and Kenita Miller is the injured muse, not Anika Larsen.

Luke is listed on one of the playbill inserts. His tap was excellent last night, and got a nice applause !
As Court mentioned, Anika is fine--- Kenita is injured, and hasnt been in the pit recently either. Kenita, get well soon !

Btw, Snannon was VERY good, and has a beautiful voice !!!

Any I am convinced that Patti can do ANYTHING !!!

Its a very demanding roll, and the skating has to be tough, given that the Hayes stage is small.

Andre was supposed to be on as Sonny this weekend, but due to Marty getting hurt, the schedule was thrown out of whack- Hope to see him as Sonny again soon- !

Last night was really like one big party !!!

I think Andre must've invited a whole bunch of friends to the matinee. Probably because he thought he'd be going on as Sonny. Every time he came on stage, every funny line he said, the crowd went extra-wild! I mean, he has some funny stuff that audiences usually respond enthusiastically to, but at this performance it was obvious he had a few "plants" in the audience.

Yes we really were. Did you see me rockin' & bouncing right in front of the center stage stairs? You shoulda said hi. Are you there every night? Everybody was awesome last night. Curtis really has the role down to perfection. And as for Kerry - no words could describe except maybe sheer genius.

Yeah - I saw Marty struggling to get into a taxi on the way out so I gave him a hand. He appeared to be in a lot of pain. I wish everybody who got injured a speedy recovery.

I'll be back next Sunday - yay - can't wait!

At this point, I would say that you will most likely see Curtis or Andre. Regardless, you will have a great time !!! They are both VERY GOOD !!!

It's less severe than a break and usually means less recovery time. That was pretty much my only point...

Most likely, still talking months--- now, a high sprain would have been something totally different--- still very painful, but that recovery time would definitely be less.

By the looks of it last night, talking a long recovery.

Hopefully, he gets back soon !!!

I saw XANADU on Friday night from the on-stage seats, and I have seriously not had so much fun at a show, ever! This cast is uniformly hysterical. Curtis was on as Sonny, and he was kick-ass. Kerry -- I have no words. I'm so thrilled that she has finally found a leading role where her every talent lights up the entire theatre. She had me laughing so loud, and her voice just blew me away. Jackie and Mary -- I am still laughing just thinking about them. Jackie really interacts with the on-stage audience members. She was so funny. And a little extra bonus for me was having Annie Golden singing along right behind me with the band. She is a legend, and you better bet I'm going to be there the first night she goes on for Jackie or Mary. I'm so glad this show is in the Helen Hayes. It is the perfect space for this show, and I really hope this show runs for a LONG time there. I can already tell that there are many repeat visitors. If you haven't seen this show yet, get to the Helen Hayes ASAP and FIND YOUR XANADU!

Can someone please post a picture of that "cute & handsome " Luke Hawkins here - for the sake of the general public ! pleaaaseeeee.. Somehow I cannot find any of his pic here on PHOTOS - Multimedia..nor google -and why was he not in any of the XANADU opening night photo ops?? (BTW :WonderRobbie post his picture with Luke at the opening night XANADU on another thread)

I heard something very vague about Cheyenne getting injured while he was doing Red Eye Love? I think it was on ATC. I hope it's just a misunderstanding and he is all right.
