Xanadu Stage Seats Question

Hi, I'm new to the board so be easy on me!

I am taking my mom to NY for her 60th birthday and we are seeing Gypsy, South Pacific, and Xanadu....so excited!!!! I have seen Xanadu before but have not sat on stage..this time we are.

I have heard if you get there early, you can request where to sit on stage. Does anyone know how early is "early"...an hour before the show? Also is there a certain place I should go to stand in line since I have seats on the stage? Thanks for your help!

I've seen it onstage four times and have never really specified where I wanted to sit, but there's no harm in trying, especially if you want the "popcorn seats."

I usually get there around 7 and everybody lines up along the wall heading west toward 8th Av. I guess your skill at getting to the ticket scanner and down to the onstage seat usher might get you a better chance of what you want, but no matter where you end up, you'll have a great time. Personally speaking, I prefer the sides...either one.

And if you don't get a side seat, nothin' beats looking at Cheyenne's rear end in the few minutes before the show starts.

Thanks for the input so far. And Ed, couldn't agree with you more about the "view" on stage in the beginning!!!! Yummy!!!!

I'm with broadwayjim42, I too have seen it 4 times on stage and really anywhere you sit is great. But if you want to request the "popcorn" seats just ask the ushers, usually Tasha or Linda and they will seat you there. You probably get a better view by sitting on one of the sides. Hope this helps.

I am seeing xanadu for the first time on onstage seats is this ok? i kno sometimes ppl say the view aint that great but i also heard ppl saying the first time is amazing onstage to be up there with it

do u miss a lot of stuff? also how many ppl can go in the popcorn seats? is side better than rear etc

I saw the show from onstage seats on Whoppi's first night. If you look at Jay's picture I was on thw far right. I reallly didn't have much of a choice where I sat because it was a tuesday and I totally lost track of time thinking that the show started at 8 instead of 7.

The two times I went, I made sure I was there early to get certain seats, and both times they accomodated my request. The second time, I went by myself, and they told me they'd seat me where I requested, but be prepared to move if they needed to seat a couple of people together. They reserve the right to move you no matter how early you get there, but usually they have been good about fufilling people's seating requests.
