YAY!! Avenue Q wins Best Musical!!! I'm sooo happy and thrilled!!!

It's so amazing, and so deserving! The best and most memorable show I've seen in years! And now, in the history books as the BEST MUSICAL OF 2004!!!

Congratulations to the entire cast, crew, and creative team! You guys have put together something that will inspire new artists and new audiences to come to musical theatre! Thank you for a phenomenal show!

Best Score
Best Musical
Congratulations to the cast. If it were not for them the show would not be as good.
Avenue Q is the show with heart.

One more thing I wanted to add: congrats to the other nominees, all seem like great shows, but I'm thrilled that Avenue Q won because (besides the fact that it's my favourite show on Broadway right now) Avenue Q brings the most promise to Broadway. It's a different kind of show, a fresher kind of show, a younger kind of show - it offers a future for musical theatre. I hope this will inspire new audiences to come to Broadway, and for more of these fresher, smaller and smarter musicals to be written in the future.

I have to say, before tonight.. I was a little annoyed with the Avenue Q craze. It does look pretty funny though. I may have to go see it. I am happy the awards were kinda spread out. I think all the shows this year were great. Updated On: 6/6/04 at 11:44 PM

I'm so exited for them. They totally deserve it! And they all performed brilliantly. I loved John's bit with Hugh. I was so surprised at how well Hugh played along.

John is very funny. The bit on the Drama Desk was actually even better. Rod was flirting with Jai Rodriguez and then Jai made out with Rod.
Go Q! I love EVERYTHING about Q.

YEAH! Screw TIME OUT NEW YORK for leaving Stephanie off the cover for not being a "diva".. Well I love the fact that even though she didnt win, her show won everything it was said it would loose. Avenue Q major wins last night were a good "Take that" to those who put them down.

You don't need $15 million to win a trophy. I hope the win of "Q" last night sends a powerful message that it is quality not quantity that wins the race.

Was sitting in first mezz with lots of Ave Q people from the show (understudies mainly) - they went nuts at the end! Was great!!! Got to congratulate Jon Tartagula's understudy (who looks just like John with blonde hair).....
