Some stage friends of mine with big hearts are trying to create a free Shakespeare festival in Orange County, CA, modeled after Joe Papp's Shakespeare in the Park, so that local underserved communities can enjoy the gift that is live theatre without having to worry about the price of a ticket. They have some big name supporters who are donating their time this Saturday, June 13th, to their radio show gala and fundraiser but virtually no marketing budget. If you don't already have plans this Saturday, please get a cheap $25 ticket (shakespeareoc.org) and come on over to see their live Lux Theatre radio "broadcast" of Kaufman and Hart's YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU, staged under the stars at the Festival Amphitheatre. Also spread the word on social media if you can!
