How about rotating Broadway Legends in the Hermit cameo - give em a great song and they could end up with a Tony ala Marilyn Cooper:
Robert Morse
John Cullum
Barry Bostwick
Kevin Kline
George Hearn
Harve Presnell
Tony Roberts
Len Cariou
Ben Vereen
Joel Gray
Mako
Robert Klein
Mickey Rooney
For the Creature: Tommy Tune (he gets a dance number!)
Bernadette Peters might make a spash as Frau Blucher.
"Yeah, Bernadette might be good as Elizabeth. But the fact that she is around 60 makes me think that her chances are not all that good."
She's 57 and played Annie Oakley at 51. On stage, it's pretty easy to age her down a bit with that kewpie doll face and as long as her character age balances somewhat to that of Frankentein, then it really doesn't matter. They just need to appear as an engaged couple. I don't remember their ages being mentioned in the film.
Blasphemy!!!! How dare I say that Bernadette Peters is starting to get old!! My deepest apologies to Mister Matt (and to Miss Peters, of course).

bump---er cars are fun, the should have a bumper car ballet in YF!!
I think for Dr. Frankenstein, Matthew would be an excellent choice. But can't you just see Raul devouring this roll?
I don't know if he'd take second fiddle anymore but Raul would also make an excellent Eyegore.
I could also see Tom Hewitt as a possible successor for Broderick as the Doctor.
Brad Garret is perfect casting for The Monster. And I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned but, Elaine Stritch for Frau! Come on it would be hilarious, I don't care how old she is! Debra Monk would also be great in that roll.

Here are my ideas:
Igor - Christian Borle
Frau Blucher - Jan Maxwell
Inga - Nancy Anderson
Elizabeth - Chenoweth or Jennifer Laura Thompson
The Monster - Greg Jbara
Doctor F - Matthew Broderick
