What's the word on Yank?
Wasn't it supposed to transfer to Broadway last season? I never got to see the show off Broadway and have always been sad I missed it

There is a reading coming up in San Diego if I remember correctly - word on ATC is that it is still being developed/produced/aiming for Broadway etc..

"The reading is in NYC..it'll be on Broadway soon."
"Soon," of course, can be defined many ways - "this fall," "2015", "never..."

Bobby Steggert talked about YANK!'s impeding move to Broadway in this trenchant and probing article, written by one of my favorite authors.

Sounds like they're doing the NYC read in prep for the San Diego OUT OF TOWN TRY-OUT.... let's hope that at least. I loved this musical and would LOVE to see it transfer.
It had a lot of problems though... so let's hope those get fixed. The York staging was a very small staging with no set. In contrast the musical is written as a big band tap extravaganza that seems to require a big budget set and cast. It's a risky move to broadway for producers to invest in. But I hope someone does!
and I hope they explain the journal a bit better at the beginning... it bothers me that this random kid finds a random journal and becomes the character... I was hoping it would be a family heirloom next time and he could take pride in things his great uncle did or something.... I dunno... or a cooler ending like Scottsboro Boys had... any thoughts?

I don't think so. I believe that spot is going to be another musical Allegiance with Lea Salonga and George Takei. Lea mentioned it several months ago at a concert in Santa Monica.
I called the OG and at the ticket office they knew nothing about it. As of yesterday there was still no announcement about the workshop/production at their own website. I'll guess we'll just have to wait until something more concrete is announced as to where and when it will happen.
