What's next? When does the developmental workshop begin?

It's going to Broadway (probably the Gershwin) right after Scott Alan's show opens.

The workshop is this week, so we might see a production in about 2 years.

YANK! at the Gershwin? Have they added a chorus of thousands?

YANK! needs a smaller, more intimate theater than the Gershwin barn.

I heard they cut that scene because Bobby Steggert refused to do it on stage!!

Give me claws and a hunch, just away from this bunch.

I can't believe it's going ANYWHERE after hearing the awful music on the concept recording.

Careful, ChiChi - there are some gals here who think it's South Pacific and The Boys In The Band put together, and they will b*tchslap you into next week if you utter a syllable against it.

I have to admit that I entered the show skeptically because 40s pastiche music sounds like a night in hell, but it thoroughly won me over. Especially Bobby Steggert, who never fails to be vulnerable and daring and honest and heartbreaking.

I also really liked it at the York, and thought Bobby Steggert and Ivan Hernandez's performances were wonderful. It definitely needed work at that point, but there was a lot of potential in it and I'd love to see it have a life in the future. I don't know if Broadway is necessarily the best place for it though, unless it's put up by one of the non-profits or does a limited run...I get the feeling they'd have a hard time trying to do a commercial run on Broadway.
