Last week, we saw Duece & ate afterwards @ Juniors
We sat right by the window & across Shubert Alley was the stage door. She never came out. There was a Shubert SUV outside & I think she must have snuck out the front. Eventually the few brave souls out there got tired of waiting & left.

Posted: 4/20/07 at 6:32pmFrom what I remember back during LONG DAY'S JOURNEY, Ms. Redgrave does not sign. She's more than happy to talk though, or at least she was back then.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

Ditto. She's come out and signed at TYOMT and she's been wonderfully gracious. Even joked with me cause I was getting off the phone with my parents telling them to get their calendars together so I could get tickets the next day right as she was coming out.
My playbill is above. :)

Her dresser took my Magical Thinking and Long Day's Journey Playbills up to get signed following today's matinee.
When I asked if Ms. Redgrave minded, her dresser said "nah, she had a few minutes."

Posted: 5/3/07 at 8:04amI was at the stage door 4 days ago with several other people. We asked the manager if she could bring in out playbills to get signed. She said she did not want to bother Ms. Redgrave. Twenty minutes later, we saw her dash out a side entrance holding a shopping bag. I understand if you approach her when she is entering her car, she gets nasty and does not sign.

Posted: 5/3/07 at 11:10amI met Redgrave at the stage door after Orpheus Descending, during the run of which some Jewish militant organization let mice out in the theater and security was always on high alert. I had brought a copy of Where Have All the Flowers Gone which she had recorded in the early sixties and she said she had been looking for a copy for years and could she buy it from me. We then got into a discussion about her singing and she asked me to accompany her to dinner. She was lovely, gracious and humble. Not the militant that she is so often portrayed as -- just a deeply concerned and often misunderstood humanitarian.
