I freakin' LOVE that song! It's so energizing and exciting! I can't help but get up and dance when I hear it! And who can't help but belt along with Kerry Butler (Penny Pingleton) during her verse??

Hey there...just wanted to let you know that The Dynamites sing some new added stuff that's not on the cast album. If you have the Tony performance or a boot of the show currently you can hear them during the end before the final chorus go "Hey Mamma! Say Momma! You can't stop the motion of the ocean...."
It is the same catch phrase from Welcome to the 60's...

That's one drawback of cast albums recorded before previews begin (as Hairspray was). You don't get those new additions that are added during previews. Although, an added benefit is that they are available just after (or during) the show's opening, when excitement is at its peak.
But, anyhoo, I agree with Joshua. Its definately one of the most energetic songs on Broadway. Tip: its a great song to play as you are getting up for the day, a great way to get in a good mood (however, it gets stuck in your head all day...)
