Does anyone have a recording of it (It's NOT ilegal) on their computer if you wouldn't mind PMing me about it that would be awesome. I haven't seen it but would really like too and the tony's website doesn't sell DVD's or VHS's. Thanks

I have it on DVD, but I dont think I can record it onto my computer
check around on ebay, they always have it

They sell it on Ebay for like $15.50 but I just wanted that song and Maybe movin' out. Thanks for the Ebay idea though!

Actually the mix was terrible that year. Kerry Butler was the only one who sounded good. It wasn't balanced at all. In fact, the sound mixing for the past two years has been terrible.

The Tony Awards should really consider releasing performances from through the years on DVD... I'm sure they'd be a HUGE hit.
I can think of a few reasons why they might not release them, but THEY REALLY SHOULD!

Their performance that year was terrible...the ensemble had lots of energy but Marissa Jaret Winokur sounded GOD AWFUL.

Maybe there's a trend beginning....whoever performs off-key at the Tonys will win an award for best actress! 2 years in a row (MJW and Menzel) both gave terrible performances and won the Tony. Can't wait for this year...

The Tony's performance was my first time seeing You Can't STop the Beat performed and I loved it. Of course, I'm not sure if my hindsight bias is making it better than it really was.

I wish I had seen that. I didn't watch the Tonys that year. I would have loved to see my beloved Kerry Butler on my television... except that god-awful film CAMPFIRE STORIES. She must have just needed to pay the bills that month, because that was the crappiest crap I've ever seen.

I have it on tape along with like almost everyother TV performace The bway cast of Hairspay has done... I don't know how to get it on the computer but I can make copys on tape if that helps anyone.. feel free to pm me :)
