I saw a commercial or an upcoming show by that name. The purpose is to cast a Danny and a Sandy in the upcoming Broadway revival of Grease. I guess it's just another British import. BBC has a show called "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?" with pretty much the same premise.

Anything will be better than the 94 revival though.

What do you think?

I cant belive america is doing this ,all the theatre lovers in the UK are appauled at the stupid sound of music reality show.

I Guess

I just think it's the first sign of theatre going the same way tv has ,Dumbed Down.
Plus its not a lot of thetare fans who are watching the show here,its reality show fans.

What about the other parts? How about Rizzo?

I am thinking maybe Idina Menzel would be cool as Rizzo, even though she could never do it.

I agree with you that some television is becoming 'dumbed down,' but there are also a lot of shows that are still rather witty left laying around, no?

Oh yeah of course(desperate housewives)but reality shows are taking over and the thought of musical theatre heading the same way is scary.

I know shows can survive without Idina. I hated her live in Wicked. But she was great in RENT. I think she'd be cool as Rizzo. better than Rosie.

"You're the One that I Want" isn't even in "Grease"! Shows how knowledgeable they are.... Unless they're adding the song in, it doesn't make sense to call the show that!

yeah, the touring show i saw a few years ago added "you're the one that i want." i did grease last summer and i actually love the song "all choked up" that was replaced by "one that i want" in the touring show. dude, don't change the script for travolta and newton!lol. i mean, i was a red-headed Sandy and people got over it.
