I thought the explanation for not casting Leachman was that they wanted to not have any connections to the movie.

...only the characters, plot, scenes intact... and every line of diaglogue it seems.

But no Leachman, because that's too much like the film?

I think Yankeefan007 has it right.

Does the hump shift from the left to the right side during the show?

Did anything come out of traps in the floor?
********************************************
Yes, but not what or who I thought would. You'll just have to see the show.

In fact there are at least three traps with things and people coming up on them.

When they scoped out where the traps would be they found that they had to move dozens if not a couple hundred Ethernet and other like cables. I believe they had to cut each one and extend it so that they could snake them around the openings.

The traps are right over the room we usually use for our meals/breaks and/or for the touring productions' sound departments. It is also the room from which the orchestra enters the pit.

I plan to take another tour backstage and I'll give an updated report.

Great review. Thank you. Did the show flow smoothly?
**************************************************
Yes, the show ran very smoothly and moved from scene to scene with little trouble. There was little trickery to change just good old fashioned drops, wagons and set pieces coming on and off.

Somebody asked if they tried to keep the black and white look of the film. The answer is no. As I wrote in my review the main drop is a blue and white depiction of the castle, mountain and village. This is about as close as you get to a black and white look.

Does the hump shift from the left to the right side during the show?

Yep. At least at first preview last night.

Does the line "Those who are late do not get fruit cup" make an appearance in the show at all? If so, I might die. I'm kind of in love with it.
