I had a delima that seems to be resolved...
Planned visit from SF to NYC to coincide with YF previews and got a ticket for 10/13/2007 Saturday evening - 3rd row just off aisle in side orch.
Work forced cancellation of vacation in Oct and replanned trip for Nov. Called TicketMaster who tried to help with exchange but could not - so I paid for another ticket in Nov - not as good a seat but still got a decent seat in Row G.
They told me there was a "Past Date Policy" for YF where you can exchange an unused past date ticket for a future date. Has anyone ever used this exchange option? How do they know the ticket was not used (bar code maybe)?
Also - I have found that TicketMaster also has a resale/auction area to make your ticket available through them. This is called the "TicketExchange". As far as I can see there are some tickets available on that site for YF even though my tickets say "Not Eligible" when I view them online.
At this point I just want to get something out of the ticket from October instead of eating the entire charge. Has anyone had experience with these options?
I have past dated my tickets to shows I couldn't make in the past many times, but through Telecharge, not Ticketmaster.
Yes, they can tell the ticket hasn't been used by the bar code.
With Telecharge at least, you have to call on the day on the performance to see if they will be allowing past dated tickets that night. Sometimes you have to call many times before they say they will accept them.
