Sunday in the Park with George on every single level. Even a bad production of the show would be better than YF, and this production is supposed to be anything but bad.
Its your taste that decides! These are two very different shows and only you can decide- you know your taste.
Young Frankenstein will be around for a year or so, maybe on your next visit see it!
Ive seen both and both are great entertainment.
wow. this is not even an apples or oranges situation. this is an apples or pigeons situation. these two shows are not even in the same family.
How is that at all a contest?
Sunday.
SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!
Yea but this person wants to see both and i think she should make up her own mind. Anyhow lets hope/see if 'Sunday' isnt played around with too much when it gets to NY as many things get ruined when they move. Firstly its in a huge theatre compared to its original home of 125 seats. That doesnt always bode well for transfers. Its transfer from the Chocolate Factory to the Wyndams wasnt a total success. I saw both.
I would rather see a grade school production of "Sweeney Todd" than sit thru "YF" again !!!
Fine! You have the choice.

Apparently making up her mind means asking us to make the decision.
Like i told her, see Sunday because Frank will be around a lot longer. Easy really!

Not only will YF be around a lot longer, they will probably tour so if you really want to see Sunday then I say go with Sunday. It's not like this is a show that is likely to get revived again anytime soon either.
Dance Girll, whatever you choose im sure youll have a great night. Enjoy NY.
That's the joy of this dilemma: either way you will have an enjoyable time.
Personally, Sunday was one of the most fulfilling experiences I've ever had at the theatre. Having seen the OBC DVD and the National Theatre production in London, I doubted that a chamber version would work. The direction is inspired and the production is beautiful. The use of projection entirely suits the material.
It's one of those productions where you'll be glad to say "I was there"!
If you opt for YF then you will be able to say you saw one of the most lavish old-style musical comedies ever staged.
The Choclolate Factory was far superior to the National i feel, tho both very very different. I saw the National in previews twice and on both occasions the show ws stopped 2 or 3 times due to the technicalities of that production.
See, Sunday. Sondeim is INFINITELY better than Jack Ass Brooks.

Sunday in the Park with George! :)
See Sunday!! There will be plenty of opportunity to see Young Frankenstien.
Everyone should see Sunday in the Park with George at least once in their lifetime.
No question - see Sunday and then rent the film YF - its much better.

Sunday in the Park
NO QUESTION.
I saw the production in London (and saw Young Frank last week). Sunday is clearly superior.
Young Frankenstein, because Sunday won't be here during winter break (I'm assuming it's in late December).
Considering SUDNAY in the PARK with GEORGE begins performances on January the 25th and plays thru April 27th, I think your best bet is to go with GETTING YOUR TICKETS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE (Nov. 17th is the date where tix go on-sale to the rest of the masses without AmEx cards, by the by). I also believe, however, that if you're not around in January, you should DEFINITELY get a ticket to the open-run of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. I haven't seen it yet, (I go on the 28th), but I've heard some amazing (and not-so-amazing) opinions... Go with your gut.
Best,
- Mike
As much as I loved the Original London performance, Studio 54 is the WRONG space for that show.
I'd go with Young Frankenstein. I adore this show.
um is this is a joke?
Sunday...no contest!
