Has anyone seen how they do the Young Kangaroo in High School Seussical productions? Like is it a puppet or something that the Sour Kangaroo holds? attached to costume? I have no idea and I'm just wondering what I'm in for with this Young Kangaroo..

And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

In our Seussical, a younger girl is playing Young Kangaroo. The only reason she got the part is because her voice is cute. She's really mean. But yeah, on B-way, there was a puppet.

That made me laugh..seeing as it could be either a puppet or a little girl lol.
Anyway, that's almost like in our high school, Jojo is played by a 6th grader rather than anyone in the high school just because she is tiny.

Our Jojo is about 14. She's really good, can make her voice sound exactly like a little boy (which is an odd trait to have).

Elphieisperky-
Our music director while auditioning girls for Jojo was telling them to sing like a little boy..so I guess your girl is talented if she can pull it off!! lol.

Saw a high school production of it last week, and the Sour Kangaroo had a hat on with the little kangaroo popping out of the top. She would point up to it when she referred to him (a little odd - but whatever.)

Yeah, our Jojo is great. Oh, and we have two cats, one boy, one girl, because it can actually be played by a guy and a girl. It's really funny because I'm missing my dance recital for Seussical, and yesterday my dance teacher was practically in tears every time we went over "their" dance. She's like, "Oh my God! We're going to miss you so much!" Whatever. I'd rather do Seussical.

Just finished a run of Seussical at my high school at Gertrude (yay for cute people!) We had this amazing puppet. It was the design of a hand puppet (meaning the sour kangaroo wore it on one of her hands) but had a huge head with a mouth that she could open and close and was made out of tan plush. Totally, totally sweet. I was uber jealous.

What's pink and green and flies all over?

I went to see a Seussical done at a high school... and they used a puppet for their Young Kangaroo. She was held by the Sour Kangaroo, exactly like the Avenue Q puppets. The puppet had been in Sesame Street before, and was an understudy for an Avenue Q puppet, which I thought was neat.

Oh wow, I doubt my Young Kangaroo will be as great as a Q puppet..
Thanks all..I learned from my director yesterday that I'll have a puppet, and I'm guessing it's being sent over to my school from my director's production of Seussical where he was the Cat..so I might have a community theatre puppet or just a hand puppet...either way, I'm psyched.

I've seen Seussical twice and both times they used a puppet.

Hand Puppets or the operated ones like Q?
