Webber/Rice- Jesus Christ Superstar
Kander/Ebb- Cabaret
Chicago
Learner/Lowe- Camelot (hate the musical, love the music)
My Fair Lady
Bernstein/Sondheim- West Side Story
Sondheim- A little night music
company
Gershwins- Let 'em Eat Cake
Cole Porter- Kiss Me Kate
Anything Goes
Rice/(abba guys. can't remember their names)- Chess

I would put phantom, but the lyrics in places get pretty bad, even if the music is sublime.

some of these are tough: but I'll stick with FAVORITES, not necessarily best. Many are near impossible to name only one (so I won't!)

Sondheim: Sunday in the Park (Sweeney Todd is on its heels)
Rodgers/Hammerstein: Carousel
Rodgers/Hart: Boys From Syracuse
Kern: Showboat
Porter: Anything Goes (slightly beating 50 Million Frenchmen)
Styne: Gypsy (hard to beat Gypsy but Funny Girl is close)
Berlin: Call Me Madam
Herman: Mack and Mabel
Arlen: St. Louis Woman (do I have to choose one score?)
Bock/Harnick: Fiddler on the Roof
Gershwins: Porgy and Bess (if it doesn't count, then Of Thee I Sing)
Kander/Ebb: Cabaret (Flora finishes in a worthy second)
Bernstein: West Side Story
Lerner/Loewe: Brigadoon
Loesser: How to Succeed...
Lane: Finian's Rainbow
Arthur Schwartz: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
Rome: I Can Get it For You Wholesale
Schmidt/Jones: 110 in the Shade (best score)
Merrill: Carnival
Stephen Schwartz: Pippin (although greatness wasn't due to him)
Strouse: Annie (closely followed by Applause)
Cy Coleman: Sweet Charity
Yeston: Titanic (best score though poory conceived in NY)
Webber: Jesus Christ Superstar
Hamlisch: A Chorus Line
Maltby/Shire: Baby
Kreiger: Dreamgirls
Finn: Falsettos
Flaherty/Ahrens: A Man of No Importance
Guettel: Floyd Collins
JRB: Parade
Tesori: Violet (slightly edge Caroline, but subj. to change!)
LaChiusa: The Wild Party

But I won't live alone in a house of regret.
