Here are a few quotes from David Finkle’s article in the most recent issue of BACK STAGE re the nasty email taking-off fr “the aristocrats” joke, which includes sexual abuse & evisceration of me, that has been passed around nationally. There are more comments condemning the cabaret community & MAC to be found in the full article.
“The punch line was not the joke’s standard punch line (which is “the aristocrats”), but was instead a reference to the community’s sole (supposed) watchdog organization [MAC] – yes, that’s right, the foundering annual awards-bestowing outfit.”
“[T]he joke is further repellent because of the response that followed it – or, in many instances, the lack of response that ignominiously followed it.”
“I was forwarded the joke by someone who received it from someone claiming not to have written the joke, but declaring he would have been proud to be the author. That comment is, of course, beneath contempt.”
[BTW, I make note here specifically that “The glib and self-satisfied Ricky ‘DEATH WISH’ Ritzel,” as he has proudly called himself publicly, was recently elected to the MAC BOD by his fellow MAC members. It is also important to note that Ritzel has a long professional & personal relationship w/current MAC BOD Co-Pres. Scott Barbarino.]
“Nor has the board of the punch line-cited organization [MAC] had anything to say. This is the organization that purports to be concerned with the image of cabaret, which the creation and dissemination of this joke taints to a dark hue. Evidently that award-fixated board isn’t all that concerned. Moreover, there are some people who’ve had the shocking temerity to assert that the person wounded by the joke asked for it. It appears that these individuals aren’t insightful enough to understand that no one deserves to be the target of this kind of jest – certainly not someone whose intentions in criticizing aspects of the community may be persistent and prolix but have also been patently on the up-and-up and sincerely intended to improve cabar

Because the link in the previous post expired, here's another link to a board (cabaretsingers) that you have to register in order to read. But it explains what happened in GRAPHIC detail. It's called "A Very Serious Message Re a Threat to Milla"

Long story made short - not for the meek to read:
Apparently, someone who doesn't like the fact that I've been lobbying for MAC reform wrote a disgusting take-off on "the aristocrats" "joke."
The cruel & anonymous email loosely based on "the aristocrats" joke begins with somebody going into Sydney Meyer's office (the booking mgr of Don't Tell Mama). It continues with my being gang raped, as well as raped using different things like corn-on-the-cob and a knife, ending with me being eviscerated & murdered on the stage. In the email, all of these public acts of violence are committed by actual members of the cabaret community whose names are mentioned. While "the aristocrats" joke ends with "What do you call this act?" "The aristocrats," this cruel email ends with "What do you call this act?" The answer is "The MAC Awards".
It is obvious that my efforts in trying to change the way MAC is run over the past 4 yrs has resulted in an environment that supported this email having been created & circulated. Mr. Finkle has written an article talking about MAC (the supposed cabaret trade association of record) in which he refers to MAC's non-reaction to this viscious and "Damnable Calumny." As Mr. Finkle also pointed out, someone in the cabaret community forwarded this email about, claiming not to have written it, but saying he would have been proud to have been the author. Not 1 person who received this particular email has stepped forward to express their outrage at the person who forwarded it with that comment. Meanwhile, the person who wrote the original offending email still has not come forward.
