a capella audition

OK, I'm asking this question for my boyfriend.

He's auditioning for a show on Monday, and wants to sing "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" a capella, but he's not sure how that would go over. Would they prefer something with a piano part along with it? He would do the usual 16 bars.

Any help would be super duper!

A Capella is never acceptable and is looked on as being unprofessional. If he is not comfortable sing it with the accompaniment, have then play the block chords.
