Hey! Has anyone heard all of the music from or seen the show? I'm looking into ordering the recording, but I just want to know is it worth it? I've only heard the title song, and I loved it. Thanks!
I heard the Cookie song and I thought it was so cute..It's definately guided towards little kids, but from what I heard of the Cookie song I was laughing hysterically, and yet I do have a wierd sense of humor so maybe it was just me lol..maybe try to see if you can hear snipits of other tracks or if anyone else has an opinion on it besides me..I know I just thought it was cute..I don't know what it's about though.. :)

i saw the show, i thought it was adorable. there were some mature jokes thrown into the show to keep adults interested. i liked the song where theyre singing about toad lookin funny in a bathing suit... and i thought the snail mail man was underused & hysterical.
lol yah, i agree with the whole aimed towards a younger audience, but i feel like i have a silly sense of humor as well. thanks for posting!

I've heard a few songs from this, mainly the aforementioned bathing suit song ("Getta Loada Toad"?) and "Seeds," and thought they were cute and charming; this is definitely on my current "I want" list of CDs.

AYWFAT has gorgeous music. The lyrics are a bit childish, as is the story. But it was a children's piece mainly. I would highly suggest buying the OCR.

I saw the performance on the Tony's a while back...it was definitely cute. But really! Did they HAVE to follow Hairspray's "You Can't Stop the Beat"? Hahaha...I was like, "Whaaa? 'A Year With' who? Dang! That's gonna suck!"

It was strange that they chose the one serious ballad in the entire show to do on the Tonys. Maybe Mark-Linn Baker's voice was bothering him or something. The rest of the show is virtually all up-tempo comedy numbers.
We did the show last December at my theatre and it was a huge hit.
I enjoy the OBC.... especially the Cookie song!
its not really the OBC it's the Orignal cast but the OBC has one differnt actress, Jenn Gamby took over on bway for the roles of Little Frog and Mouse and the 3rd bird and stuff but the cast recording is from the out of town show with the Girl whos name I forget but is curently in Good Vibrations.. the lead.. sorry I don't know her name.
But anyway the songs are fun and they are very much the kind of songs that stick in your head all the time!

I saw it, and while def childish...of course, it really was VERY well done and held my interest. I can honestly say I had fun. The cast made it for me. This was when I first saw and fell MADLY for Jonathan Rayson who was on for Jay G., oh SO HOT...lol
The cast recording is great--we played it constantly after seeing the show. It was so much fun, and never condescended to children or tried to be anything other than true to the books.
The cookie song as performed was a total delight---silly but so relatable to anyone who has ever baked a cookie or eaten a freshly-baked one. Mark-Linn Baker, Jay Goede and the rest of the cast could not have been better, and I was very sad this show did not have a longer run on Broadway.
You cannot be or stay in a bad mood listening to this recording--highly recommended!
