Who read last Sunday's Times article about ASSASSINS and 9/11?

I dunno know...he seems to be overstating the connection between the show and 9/11, at least as perceived by most theatergoers. His analysis is good, but I'm not sure the "9/11 reverberations" account for the show's popularity now. I mean, how does Weidman know what most people are/were thinking when the cast points their guns at the audience?

I finally had the chance to read this. I'm a little puzzled too about all the people attributing the success of ASSASSINS to "timeliness."

It is amazing though. I have never seen a crowd of people stay SEATED in their seats at a broadway show and SO enthusiastically clap for two whole minutes AFTER the cast has left the stage following their bows. Like they wanted an encore from a band.
