Priest - I don't know about the respected part, but I do know what I'm entitled to when I pay the prices that are charged on Broadway. I'm willing to spend it, but I damn sure better get what I'm paying for. And that has NOTHING to do with what I think of the material. These are professional situations that come with a certain amount of expectation. Do NOT put someone with a script in their hand in front of me and expect me to stay in my seat.

Dgrant; "Inexcusable, pathetic, & grotesque"? An "abomination that should be forced out" ? " You "would have a refund immediately or someone would be paying for it with a pound of flesh"?

Being a little dramatic here? Get a bit of perspective.

Sure, they blew it - and yeah, it's a poor excuse for a show, but c'mon - you're over the top on this. The audience was offered alternate night tickets AND refunds - and very few took up that offer. The most was made of a bad situation, and most of the people present were thrilled to witness a unique situation.

Munk, if you're going to insult someone, at least get the right person. The Brooklynphile with the "magical" fixation was tinytoon, not emo.

Hamlet, DGrant. I can bring the Shakespeare too. And it wasn't your use of the bard that I found over the top (and "inappropriate" never crossed my keyboard).

No question Saturday probably shouldn't have happened. But this sort of thing HAS happened on other shows, to some degree. Chicago's curtain had to be rung down for 15 mins. in an emergency situation while the standby was located and brought back to the theatre. In another(Broadway) show, a stage manager had to go on. What about John Hilner stepping in for Davies during preveiws of La Cage? By all accounts, he performed admirably - but he himself says he had to dash for the wings to consult the script, call for lines, and had to fake his blocking & choreography.

What I found over the top was your use of words like "abomination" & "grotesque" when discussing a show. Saying that they should be "forced out". What is this, Nazi Germany? Nobody's baby got dismembered & eaten here...some boneheads made some bad decisions about a show that maybe shouldn't have gone to Broadway in the first place & will be gone soon enough. They gave a lot of people something to talk about. And nobody thinks that anything going on with Brooklyn reflects on the rest of the Broadway community. Brooklyn's an aberration, not an abomination. Stop blowing this out of proportion. You're making much ado about nothing <-----see, still with the Shakespeare.

Last, I'll appreciate your not attacking me personally as "having no standards or limits". That was a way the hell out of line comment.
