alan cumming

yes, this is a post completly dedicated to alan cumming. i think he was truly as his best as EMCEE in CABARET, and did a fantastick job as ROOSTER in the remake of ANNIE. i enjoyed seeing him in GOODBYE GIRL remake, but his performance was so-so. so go ahead, try helga, or post your thoughts on this phenomenal person. any first hand experiences with him? has he ever vistited the boards?

One of these days I *will* meet this man. I love his work, and he always has the greatest lines.

I loved him in The Anniversary Party. And other than his performance and John C. Reilly, I didn't love much else about the movie.:) Yay Alan! He MAKES Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion, too!

Yup, I've had a first-hand experience with him that I posted on a couple of the other threads. I don't think he likes me too much.

Oh, Beav, I wish it were that simple. I mentioned this somewhere else:

I met Alan Cumming when he was filming Josie and the Pussycats in Vancouver. (Oscar-worthy movie. Do rent it.) Sadly, in my slightly intoxicated state (of alcohol and a chocolate buffet at their hotel), this was our exchange:

Me: *slightly slurred speech* OH! I know YOU! You're The Creepy Guy in all those movies! Right, Rachel? (Leigh Cook - Who had been patiently reminding me who he was while in the ladies room. At this point she's covering her mouth in disbelief.) You scared the SH*T out of me in that Bond movie!
Him: *tense grin*
Me: Sorry. Can I have your autograph?
My friend: We must be really pissing you off right now.
Alan: Enjoy your dessert. *walked off*

If that wasn't bad enough, I was called to work on the Josie set the next week, and he remembered me quite well.

Tiff, that story still cracks me up. But at least you *have* met him!

You can't find a better Emcee. Sorry, Joel.

Alan Cumming is going to be a host this coming saturday at the "move-against-aids" dance-a-thon :) for all you fans who want to come, register and start collecting donations from friends it goes to the cure and you have to collect at least $75 to be elegable to go :)

When someone blunders, we say that he makes a misstep. Is it then not clear that all the ills of mankind, all the tragic misfortunes that fill our history books, all the political blunders, all the failures of the great leaders have arisen merely from a lack of skill in dancing. - Moliere
