all shook up review 1/18 !! pleasantly surprised!

i know people already posted reviews, but I just wanted to add to them because I was so PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!! I went with a friend of mine who had done theatre in San Antonio with Curtis Holbrook (Dean)(who was an awesome dancer by the way!), and for some reason, I didn't have high expectations...i don't really love elvi's music, so I wasn't too excited...but I was so impressed!! It was a Bye Bye Birdie meets Footloose meets Hairspray meets other stuff type deal... but it was so much fun- great energy, bright colors, awesome dancing...I left feeling so happy, and that is the exact effect that a show like that should have on its audience. For some reason I thought this plot seemed to flow better than that of Mamma Mia and there were some really great one-liners. Hmm what else...the choreography was energetic and fun and the cast was truly outstanding. The finale of Act One was probably the show's greatest musical moment...But overall the show just made me smillllleeeeee! my favorite performance came from nikki m. james (Lorraine)...i think she's going to go far...so, yeah. i call that right now!!anyway, i hope other people enjoyed as much i did and i cant wait to see it in new york after it goes through the rest of its preview-tweaking stuff. ok, that's it. go see All Shook Up!!!

Wow- I was there Tuesday night too. I think you might have sat in front of me. I thought it must have been someone's Mom, they were enjoying the show so much!
