my boyfriend has gone all three season auditions (this is canadian idol...same deals..)

You have to go through three rounds, 1st round by some producers, second round by different producers, and THEN u face the judges (which are usually 2 or 3 days afterward) and thats the only round that is also filmed

All my theatre friends who have gone have been told they are too 'broadway' pfffft...
I hate american/canadian idol because the TRUE performers are too good to try out for that- i mean really! Its sad but true- and as for my bf...well...he's gonna keep tryin'! such a trooper...lol...i just stay with him and encourage him while thinking 'oh good! only 8 more hours till i can leave!! re: american idol auditions'

from what I've heard..you need to be in the area for a few weeks (which means unless you live very close to where they are auditioning, you need a place to stay and you can't work/go to school) and you audition everyday for quite a while.

And if you noticed talented people don't win or get close to winning, they get kicked off in the top 5 or 6. That's why we have crappy people like Carrie and Diana Degarmo who are in the top of the competition. If theatre is what you want to do don't do AI.

and all that I could do because of you was talk of love...

a friend of mine auditioned and she was turned away at the first little thing you go to. they told her her song sounded to rehearsed and it was too like... technical and precise? i have no idea. shes amazing. they hate her because she actually had talent. i hate american idol. grr.
