Thanks Pippin'! (note: copy and paste this for the BWW review). Can you also show up at the "nut" on 11/14 for Peter Pan?
Just teasing you, my dear! I am so looking forward to the experience for myself. Come from behind the glass and say hello, will ya? See you tommorow night.

I saw the show Opening Night on Tuesday and thought it was terrific, especially the part which was choreographed with them in rolling chairs. That was amazing. They seemed to really enjoy that part too. I got goosebumps when she sang "Don'T Cry For Me Argentina".
I attended the after party, and only Mandy Patinkin and the band attended. One of the theater people told me that Patti was indifferent and said not to expect her at the party, peculiar he said. She's not really into talking with the common folk, I guess. Which I thought was funny, especially since I recently saw Summer of Sam and she was topless in the movie, ok I digress, but she was so desperate for that role that she agreed go topless in the movie, but she couldn't attend the afterparty of the show. Today the review of the show is in the Inquirer

Saw it friday. Between the traffic and rain it took FOUR hours from NYC to Philly. In other words..my friends and I were in a foul mood..Despite the bad set-up..we had superb time. A joy of show...incredible arrangements..both in wonderful voice. I agree..the chair dance was worth the trip alone.
I hope this lives on...perhaps off nights at the Beaumont (similar to Patti's concert?).
Two incredible performers.

Posted: 10/29/07 at 12:26amI flew into Philadelphia and saw the show four times. It was wonderful. The juxtaposition of songs and shows was amazing. Mandy was funny and could do many voices and sounds. Patti is an amazing actress, changing age, demeanor, and character for each of the vignettes. She did not seem her usual friendly self at the stage door. I didn't know if it was me, or something was bothering her. I would not jump to the conclusion that she doesn't want to mix with the common folk. She normally is very friendly and gives of her time at the stage door and at galas. I hope that life is ok for her right now and think we should be more understanding. She often comes to the stage door when other performers don't. The show seems like an incredible amount of work switching from vignette to vignette. There were people there that ran to the box office to see if they could purchase tickets for an additional performance. If I could afford it, I would have stayed for the last 2 shows. It was one of the best performances that I have ever seen in my life. I do hope that they make a DVD and perform it for PBS so I will have a forever copy. It is hard to believe that two actors could play so many roles and combine it with such amazing singing and dancing within 2 hours. They both have my utmost respect and admiration. I have seen each performer separately and together they perform magic. The musical accompaniment complemented the singing wonderfully and also helped set the mood. I hope to catch the show at another venue in the future. I would highly recommend it.

It was indeed a very special evening of music and acting and the audience couldn't have been more pleased. Many Manny & Patti fans at the Prince for this run. I hope to write up the BWW review tomorrow.
