I'm pretty sure he's rehearsing for RENT right now, then goes to Africa (or something) for the New Year. I think that's what he said, anyway...
Thailand.
::sigh::
I miss his Rent updates...He certainly deserves his vacation time, though.
I think rehearsals for the Rent film start in January??
Any revisions of the screenplay made public yet? Hee hee! I loved reading the latest version - I wanna know more! :)
i also miss the updates but he deserves a break. I hope they work on the script. I am a little annoyed about the gay marriage bit.
I doubt there are any updates to make since there's probably no or few rehearsals going on while he's off.
True...but...still.
Feathah, they've already had like two weeks of rehearsal. They're probably on break right now and going to resume in January.

Don't they start filming in January or February?

anthony was only scheduled to do the west coast part of the little shop tour to begin with.
Oh really? hmm wish I knew that when I bought the tickets hehe
But RENT is a very good trade of for LSOH, and I'm sure the show will still be great.
They start shooting in March, with more rehearsals and recording from now until then.
I can't wait until the soundtrack is released. I am going to be so giddy, I will pee myself everytime I think of it. **trickle, tricke**
Jonathan Rayson is replacing him?! He was awesome when I saw him on Broadway.
Jonathan Rayson must be quite the versatile performer. He played Seymour on Broadway for 2 weeks in June this year and then immediately followed that with a week as "Orin, Bernstein, Snip, Luce and Everyone Else" according to IBDB. Wow!

yeah i'm annoyed about the gay marriage bit too. I mean don't get me wrong, I think this country needs to wake up and smell the Gaydar and know that gays have a right to marry just like any other human being---that being said, RENT was written to take place in the early/mid 1990's. Gay marriage just wasn't a hot topic, was barely talked about then. Please dear god don't tell me that they might make it present-day? That takes away from the AIDS message in the play, since AIDS was killing people a lot faster in the early 90's then it is now. I mean it's still killing people, sadly, but not at as fast rate, so it seems. oy vey. I wonder what Spike Lee woudl've done had he not walked off the set?
I'm sorry i'm going on and on and this is an anthony rapp thread, not a RENT thread. my apologies. I love Mr. Rapp though, he's an incredibly talented artist and he made Mark Cohen come as alive as anyone for me in RENT. HE was the heart and soul of a play with a lot of both to begin with. ANd yes he deserves a break...ok gonna shut up now...
Yeah sorry for getting you off topic but i agree. I believe in gay marriage but in the rent movie, i think not! alright back to anthony.. I love him!

How about applauding the movie version for giving the lesbian characters more beef to their roles. They were already watered down from shulman's novel.
i haven't read Shulman's novel so i can't really comment. BUt if you say the lesbian characters have more depth to them than that is awesome.

Yeah, gay marriage should be legal. Obviously. And yay for the author(s?) for recognizing that. But when you don't really have time to get into it (to me it seems like) its just a...very odd way to get into Take Me or Leave Me... JMO, though.. :)
