I am! I am!!!
15th row seats, not great, but i will be in the building, and Linda Eder will be belting, and that is all I care.

But...Sutton's going to be there as well? WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOO! Bonus!
Will give full report on Monday!

I just got back from Linda's concert and it was really great. The crowd was so into her (although there were a few strange birds)She sang almost all the songs from her album, I think, and a bunch others. She was in great voice, and is very witty. She really puts on a great show.

But no Sutton, I'm going to be pissed if she is there tomorrow and I missed her. Oh Well!

"(although there were a few strange birds)"

LOL Oh, you mean the Ederdettes? LOL That's apprently what they call themselves. I tried posting on Linda's message board a couple of times, but those people are just insane! Not all of the people who post there; just the obsessed fans who will kill you if you ever say one bad thing about Linda Eder. I'm all for being a big fan of somebody if you really enjoy their music and whatnot, but some people just take it to the extreme, and it's scary.

Yeah, "strange birds" is really putting it lightly. She was walked down the aisle to the stage by a security man, partly because of the incline and partly because i'm sure people would have jumped on her. There were quite a few "Ederettes", they are freakin nutso, the poor woman. She is a wonderful performer and I'm a fan, but I will never call myself an Ederette.

LOL OMG, click on this link. Tese people really frighten me. You have to go through the entire album. It's too funny.

Went to the show last nite.
I'm not going to say she was perfect - there was one line flubbed in "some people" - but aside from that little mishap, everything else was excellent.
True, her patter is not extraordinary by any means, but it's entertaining enough and serves its purpose.
Bring On The Men was a real treat, everyone got very into that (save the couple next to me who just sat there the entire show, barely alive). She also performed Storybook from Pimpernel, which was great, I don't knokw that show at all but I definitely plan on picking it up now.

A lot of stuff she did vocally was terrific. I usually do appreciate a little variation from whatever's on a cd or such, but although ther was not so much, I still enjoyed it.

I definietly think she's the type who can only play large houses. SHe'd deliberately pull the mike about 2 feet away whenever she belted something - this woman knows her own strength, and she knows we'd have all gone deaf had she not. That said, I think the fact that she *is* so powerful and does not seem to have many of those quiet moments really will restrict her to bigger houses. You can be a back-row belter and pin your audience against the wall, but unless you've got the ability to pull in the entire room and make everyone feel like it's a one on one concert, the small rooms will feel too cramped. Even WMF was a little small for her (glad I was seated farther back).
NExt year I definitely plan on attending both performances. It was a terrific concert and I'm really looking forward to Camille Claudel - she did some new material from that which was really nice, in addition to singing "Gold" (which is one of my favorite songs).
Anyone else there?

How scary/funny is that album? WOW, I saw that "Eder Express" Van at the concert, and was scared then, but am more scared that there is documentation of it. Poor Linda, she's a saint to not run far, far away.
Better her than me....

Just to let you know that the bus nor the photo album belong to any "Ederette"...this is another group of Linda Eder fans. The "Ederettes" were called that by someone who knew this group of women. They are all friends who came together because they were fans of Linda Eder. They are very supportive of Linda's music and they are not nuts. You have the wrong people.

UMMM, whatever. I still think the bus thing was weird...and seperate from that, the Ederdette thing weird.

I have spoken of some of those Ederdette people in Linda's chat room, and for the most part, they aren't very nice. More like obsessed with Linda Eder, and will attack anyone who disagrees with anything they say.

Theater Baby,
It's a shame that you had a bad experience in the Linda Eder chat. I'll admit that some fans are a bit on the eccentric side, but I've met some great people on that board. You're entitled to your opinion, I just hope that you don't generalize that all of Linda's fans are like that.

I don't want to start my new membership here off on a bad note, so I'll end here. It's true, I'm a HUGE Linda fan, but I promise I won't make everything I post about Linda.

Hi folks!

I guess I am in a position to be able to speak about the Linda Eder Fans. As the owner of EderFan.com. I spend most of my time working with them! There are several people on the message board that definitely post and react with levels of extreme. So what? Aren’t there a group of people that toured the country summer after summer with one band following them wherever they went? I think they were called Dead Heads.

The chat room is still a baby - we know there are times when there are people that pop in and "troll" all over the place. Fortunately, if there's an admin around, I can promise you they will be blocked. Neither Linda, myself, or any of the admin team want there to be anything but fun in the chat. We are also looking into new scripting processes that will allow chatters to ignore people they don't want to chat with as well as other user options. We'll get there!

As to the big houses, Linda would much prefer a smaller venue. She likes the intimacy of a small room. But, like she said, I just play where they book me to play! Thats all left up to management. I once had a situation where Linda and I were standing together and she started humming. Just as pretty and ever so quiet. But, as you know, when she's gonna belt, she's gonna belt!

The message board is not someplace I ever want any of you to feel like you cannot post. You have as much right to speak your mind there as any other fan. There is no hierarchy, and there is no elite fan base that has any right to slam posters for their thoughts. Sadly as much as it is sweet, there are people that love Linda A LOT, and will jump to defend her without really thinking about it. It's just that way. I cannot ask them not to do so, they have the same rights as well. I know it looks like that doesn't allow for objective threads, but we're trying. Please know that all of your thoughts and YOU are welcome on the message board and in chat at any time.

Thank you for taking the time to speak about Linda's performances, I'm glad you liked the show! She always does well at Westbury!

My Best,
Stevie
