what is your range?
David walked into the valley
With a stone clutched in his hand
He was only a boy
But he knew someone must take a stand
There will always be a valley
Always mountains one must scale
There will always be perilous waters
Which someone must sail
-Into the Fire

That's what I was thinking....O.o;
I'd also like to know what songs would suit my voice.
(I'm a piano player and have only recently become a vocalist so bear with me, please.)
Low E (E below middle C) -> High...high...G. (3 G's above middle C)
I can belt to about High G I think. (2 G's above middle C)

Well, uhh..>___>..I'm not really sure. I'm pretty sure I'm about the same age as Katie. (15 in October), but my "high high" F's and G's are really squeaks. I can sustain them, but they're just something you'd like to hear. :)
I really can't say how I did that...I want to say it's natural, but that makes me sound pig-headed. I'm starting vocal lessons soon to sort of strengthen my belting and upper register.

Katie, why don't you sing one of the songs that people recommended in your other thread?
Either A) condense it so it sort of makes sense as a solo [like what Stephen Schwartz did with Defying Gravity in the songbook] or B) just double up the female parts when you can.
Chances are, at the audition, they won't have you sing the entire song. Maybe first 16-20 bars.

a lot of those are kind of. . . i dont know. theyre all duets and most of them are a snetece for each persona dn they switch on and off and its hard to sing two parts and not sound like an idiot. plus i have to find out which one im singin with my friend before i can choose one for myself.

no no no im not singing at my audition with a friendim singing at this thing called broadway nights with my friend. and i wouldnt sound like an idiot its just the two parts are different. i mean do you normally sing a two part song for an audition.
yea we have i think 16 measures were allowed to sing. its not the whole song but the songs are like one sentence for one person
one sentence for another its right on and off

Hmm...listening to most of the songs, I'm pretty sure you could pull off ATLEAST 16 bars making it sound like one person singing.
"I Know Him So Well" would do well, or possibly "I Still Believe".
If you can do movie soundtracks, maybe a Disney song? Although they're well known, people don't think about doing them.
"Journey to the Past" and "Once Upon a December" are pretty okay. They're not too high. It's not exactly musical theatre, but wouldn't it be cool if it were? :P
I've just noticed I haven't gotten any suggestions. >

Aigoo, with a range like that, you can sing SO many songs, Try some songs from Phontom, most of the Christine songs would be good for you. Or some songs from Wicked that Galinda sings...

Yeah, I've listened to Wicked so many times, I can just sing all the female roles. Possibly the males as well...::blushes::
I'm starting on Christine. I was scared to touch it before because I didn't want to butcher such a good musical, but my vocal teacher recommended Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again.
I've listened to the CD several times, and I'm embarrased to admit that I didn't even KNOW what song she was talking about! O_O

Yeah, having an amazing range like that makes you able to sing a lot of songs... You could also sing "Lets hear it for the boy" from Footloose, or "Somebodys eyes" they would both show off your higher range.
