audition songs

Please help. I need an audition song for about two months from now, I want to get a head start. I'm 13 and I'm a mezzo with a belt. Also, is On My Own such a horrible audition song? That was my first choice until I heard it was so bad. My other choice, also from les mis, would be I Dreamed a Dream. Is that a bad one, too? Thanks please respond.

Well, the problem with On My Own is that it's overused.

Any Les Miz song is really overdone...try to avoid them...

Mind giving a bit more info? Like....what are you auditioning for? Like...a camp thing or a specific role in a musical?

I don't mean to offend you, Defying, but Wicked songs are also over used at auditions.

I did newsies. would you be playing a guy? because the girls in that show dont really do anything unless you are Medda and in that case you would sing "High Times" but if you are trying out for a guy role i would recomend singing something in your lower register.
