I'd like to go to an equity call for a show that doesn't start rehearsal until next April. I am 6 months pregnant and will deliver in January. Do any of you with more experience forsee any problems with auditioning while pregnant? Just curious!

Thanks in advance!

I don't think so. It also depends on the role and what kind of 6 months you are. I know women who were dancing in Evita until their 8th month. I also know women who were huge at 5 months. it depends. Make sure you note that you are pregnant, when your due date is, and your normal weight on your resume.

I've seen pregnant women at professional auditions before, for what it's worth (I've also been in a couple of shows with pregnant women). If I were the casting director, I wouldn't have a problem with it. Of course, since I'm nosy and sometimes a little girly, I'd want to know if it was a boy or a girl, and if you had a name picked out, and all of that good stuff!!

a roommate of mine auditioned and was cast with the production team knowing full well she was pregnant. so i don't see anything wrong with still trying to work and get work while you are able too...before it gets too painful....good luck and congrats.

I wouldn't let it stop me from auditioning.

I hope you don't mind me asking, what show? Good luck and congrats!

Phantom of the Opera - here in Las Vegas.

I don't think I'm going to make it as I have a cold, but we'll see. Thanks for all the feedback!

(oh, and for the nosey person, it's a boy and no, we don't have a name picked out yet! Any ideas! LOL!)
