Any suggestions on how to write a dazzling cover letter to convince casting directors/agents that they want to see me? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
As someone who opens the submissions in a casting agency...let me say...Don't do anything stupid, don't do something "Original" beause it will just end up looking dumb. Be witty, but short. Get to the point, the point is YOU. It's all about your picture. Thats what is going to get you the appoinment. Your headshot is your key to getting in, THEN the Director will learn about you.
Also, it's not always best to list EVERYTHING you've ever done. NO one cares that you were in ShowChoir. get the point?

could you please give more insight into the agency submission process. If we have a friend or teacher who is well-known in the business is it wise to send a reccommendation from them with the cover letter?
What is a a way to make the cover letter concise and intriguing, without being weird or listing everything you've done?
do you as the person who opens the submissions choose ones to give to the agent? How long does it take before an agent sees?
Thanks so much...really curious about this process.
