why hasn'nt there been a movie of this yet maybe it could be a future project

I don't know, but I have been saying this for years: there should be a revival in the works soon. It is such a good show.

I adore this show, and I worship the Gershwins.

That being said, I can't think of a worse idea than making it into a movie.

There's a great PBS video of Crazy For You (I think it's at the Paper Mill Playhouse)...anyways, it is such a great production and is filmed well.

Girl Crazy has been filmed at least twice in some incarnation or other although the most recent was in about 1965.

Crazy For You was shown on PBS Great Performances. They filmed the Paper Mill production that used Stro's original choreography.
