What context Rentboy?
Generally if a show is "dark" it does not perform on that night, but I can not think of a show here in the city at the moment that is "dark" on Sunday.
It is used instead of "closed" which is for when the show has shut down for good.
Is that what you mean?

Posted: 4/26/05 at 1:11amWell one of the headlines on BWW (from a link from variety.com) said something about "Dark" Sundays, and not being a memeber of variety, I couldn't read the article. I remember hearing that B'way once dimmed all its lights to honor the death of someone, so i thought maybe all of B'way was going dark for one sunday to honor someone's death. But i guess i was wrong.

All of Broadway is dark on Tony Sunday, maybe that is what they are talking about. Its a big business day so they don't close a lot.

Maybe not, this is something I had heard and I couldn't get tickets to a couple shows I tried but I could be very wrong.

Posted: 4/26/05 at 7:29amsmartpenguin, not all of Broadway is closed on Tony Sunday. My roommate has tickets to Rent that night. Not sure if they're the only one playing that night or not. Maybe, there aren't many Sunday night shows anyway, most only have a 3:00 mat on Sundays.
#13re: dark sundays?
Posted: 4/26/05 at 7:38amThat article from Variety about "Dark" Sundays refers to last week's Broadway grosses. 700 Sundays did not perform last week.
