no, he's mentioned...but that's his only number, unless he's chorus too.
Unlikely he's gonna be chorus...it's often an older man.
Some directors will incorporate him into the Prologue (depending on their vision for that scene) as well as him in the final scene with Pilate, watching the trial.

ShuQ- depends on whether you're talking about highschool or professional productions

Every professional production I have seen he only comes in for his song. Short and sweet.

Kinda like Sarah in DRS where she only has the one song and then is done. I'd imagine its good money for not a lot of work.
I imagine if it was pro, they'd have a "legend" in that role.
Actually in a production of JCS I was in, Herod was played by a woman. They sort of did a kind of dominatrix S&M type theme. She had a big, long, leather trenchcoat and a riding crop, as well as three muscular guys in Chipendale-type outfits. She stole the show! It was the funniest scene!

I wouldnt say he was a "legend" but when I saw it on tour. The original Herod was doing the role.

Actually, if it is done historically, Herod is younger...and, therefore, able to double. He is also usually in the 30 lashes scene as Herod.
MTRBOI24, Paul Ainsley was on the tour? Or do you mean the original London Herod?
