Posted: 11/26/05 at 11:34pmim auditioning to perform in the national performing arts festival...my group is doing little shop of horrors..i want to be one of the three girls...im a soprano one..i feel more comfortable singing mezzo soprano parts though..any ideas to show off my voice?

when in doubt...keep it simple.
go in and sing something like AMAZING GRACE and riff what you feel comfortable riffing. It's better if you go in with something that's expandable to your own interperetation as opposed to vice versa.
If you go in with something like 'and i'm telling you' (no offense My Fair Lady)- you're really asking to be compared to the beyond fierce women (and men) who have sung it famously before you.
Sing something simple and add the little shop 'flavah' to the degree that you feel comfortable with. That way, you can feel free to show your 'own' voice, as opposed to trying to live up to someone elses.
Just my two cents.
