Posted: 7/27/07 at 12:30pmGo in the morning, sign your name up, leave your headshot, wait long enough to find out what's going on, go do what you have to do, and come back. Usually they don't see non-equity until near the end of the day for a call like that, if at all, so if you just need to be gone for a few hours you probably won't miss anything (but more waiting).

Posted: 7/27/07 at 3:48pmI would say that out of all the Equity calls I've been to (which is probably around 30...mostly at the AEA Center) I have been seen less than half the time. However, NOW is a good time to go, because the summer is a very slow season for auditions, as many Equity actors are out of town on tour or doing summerstock. For example, I went to the Avenue Q call last July or August, and there were only a couple of Equity actors there; all the non-equity actors were seen and I was there for less than 2 hours. The fall or spring are probably the worst times to go to Equity calls because there are many more people in town and they are PACKED all the time; very unlikely you'd get seen at any Broadway calls. But I would always leave a headshot and resume, even if they are overflowing with people; I did this for RENT and they called me a few weeks later to schedule an audition. So, you never know.

Posted: 7/28/07 at 2:06amThanks so much Rymes_with_witch and Josephine2. That does help a lot. I think I might go then, it seems like now is the best time and if they looked at everyone in the spring when probably more people showed up then they'll probably look at everyone again (at least to type out)
