Hey guys,
Sorry if this was already posted, but I didn't see it anywhere but for those who live in NY:
a half hour tv special on South Pacific
WABC-TV on Saturday, May 17th
7:30 p.m.
The email stated:
"Lincoln Center Theater’s critically acclaimed production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s SOUTH PACIFIC will be the subject of a 30 minute TV special A SALUTE TO RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN’S SOUTH PACIFIC, which airs this Saturday evening, May 17 at 7:30 pm on WABC-TV (Channel 7 in New York), with a rebroadcast scheduled for Sunday, May 25 at 5:30am.
A SALUTE TO RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN’S SOUTH PACIFIC, which will be hosted by 5pm Eyewitness News anchor Sade Baderinwa, will give viewers a rare behind-the-scenes look. The special will feature interviews with the show’s stars Kelli O’Hara, Paulo Szot, Matthew Morrison, Danny Burstein and Loretta Ables Sayre, director Bartlett Sher; Mary Rodgers Guettel (daughter of composer Richard Rodgers) as well as rarely seen footage of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II and performance footage featuring the musical’s original stars Mary Martin and Ezio Pinza.
Set your Tivo now!"
~I hope you guys can enjoy it! I wish I lived in NY

Thanks for the heads up - just scheduled it!
Do all Rodgers and Hammerstein shows have to have their name in front as part of the title now?
It appeared that way on the TONY nom list.

It was like that in the email too. I've only noticed it recently though. Maybe for the "official" stuff they do it like that.

It's better than "The New Mel Brooks Musical" attached to Young Frakenstein. I'm sorry, but eventually the titel "new" is going to be worn out.
I dislike it when some titles say "new musical" and others simply say "the musical". Either way you look at it, it is still consider a new musical (hint: never been done or presented before on a Broadway Stage). Either just leave it as "the musical" or have the "new" for a short time and later change it... RENTBOY was right, eventually "The New Mel Brooks musical" will be worn out when it is still mentioned that way when it's 2055...LOL
