hi i am looking for 2 cd's that i can't seem to find anywhere! first of all The Civil War (frank wildhorn) not the studio cast, but the original broadway cast, and Promises, promises.
If you haven't already, give amazon.com and broadwaynewyork.com a try:)
i have thanx though... i have looked absolutly everywhere and i can't seem to find them

Call me crazy, but I don't believe CIVIL WAR was recorded...
thats what i though, but my drama teacher is positive he has seen it.. i was going to get the studio cast, but its pretty bad... it has people like hootie and the blowfish singing in it, the only good part about it is that linda is in it.
Perhaps he was confusing it with 1776 or RAGTIME?
If he confused Civil War with 1776 he should realize there are typically no black guys in 1776. Although I think an all-black cast would be quite intriguing.
Haha.
If you haven't seen the shows, its easy to confuse them. All deal with U.S. history.
My history professor knew OF the musicals 1776 and Ragtime. I mentioned The Civil War in class one day, and he thought I spoke of Ragtime (nooo clue why. different era).
check your pms
Yea, TCW OBC definitely wasn't recorded, but i'm sure there's a few bootleg's around. shhhhh

It's not clear to me if you are judging the Studio Cast recording purely based on the list of singers or if you have actually heard it. I wouldn't write it off without listening a few times. While it does include several pop/country singers it also includes the Broadway or original Alley Theatre cast members on many tracks. I also can't imagine a better rendition of "Tell My Father" than Kevin Sharp's.
As for Promises, Promises, it is out of print. I managed to get a copy on Ebay for around $25, but it took a couple of months of watching and bidding.
