Thanks for the help in another thread I posted earlier. I am looking to see if anyone can recommend a hotel in Washington DC very near to the Whitehouse area. I don't want to pay a fortune, something that's clean, reasonably price and in that location please.

Thanks for any advice you have (I have searched the Internet and have found possibilities, but many are very expensive).

The Hotel Allen Lee. It's located near Foggy Bottom. It's very inexpensive. The last time I was there it was $40/night. It's clean but threadbare. It's usually populated by casts of touring shows from the Kennedy Center.
