hi all

just wanted to start a post (selfishly) with ideas about great comedic songs for tenors???

i can think of a few things from full monty and a funny thing happened on the way to the forum, but thats it and i'm in desperate need!! plus, stuff from spamalot would be good, but no sheet music available in time. the producers maybe?

any ideas???
would appreciate anything. i have two weeks to work on it
love you all
tenor comedy songs. tenor. comedy.

"...But Kungurtseva reels off multiple fouettes and the tape is stopped so she can take a bow. The Jester, an abomination introduced to Swan Lake in Soviet times, extorts applause from the audience. The cuts don't help the storytelling, the production is bare bones and they go for the '50s-style happy ending. The audience cheers like mad at the end. It's the Russian ballet, after all..."

"I Would Trust Her" from The Pajama Game is always a reliable comedic hit!

BSoBW2: I punched Sondheim in the face after I saw Wicked and said, "Why couldn't you write like that!?"

"YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING" from WOMAN IN WHITE. It brings the house down everytime. Very comedic and even has an operatic flavour for emphasis. Only thing is - you might need a white mouse running up and down your arm to enhance the performance re: ideas needed for great tenor comedy numbers????

The OCR London is available in the USA and features the performance by Michael Crawford. It's even more fabulous when rendered by Michael Ball ( as I hope it would be when it comes to Broadway).

"Make 'Em Laugh" from the movie version of Singin' In the Rain if you can do a lot of physical comedy while singing.
