jealous mothers

I heard that Idina said in an interview that her mother was happy with her success but at times got jealous because she had wanted to be a performenr herself. Do you think/know if this is a common problem for people on broadway?

when i read this i thought we were going to be talking about jealous stage moms and stuff. so i have to share this cuz it was absolute entertainment. at work we had a girl and her mom and the mom was gonig crazy trying to find the stage door to get autographs for her daughter. She tried to get into the new hotel tower(got lost) and then ran out by the parkng garage where one door is (left her very young daughter alone) and while doing that she missed every single cast member coming out the front door and when she came back and finally asked i responded oh most have already left through the door right here ... she told me i was a bitch for not telling her earlier (she never asked i just watched and laughed) ... i wouldnt call it jealous just CRAZY!

and if you watch VH1 the stagemoms ... there is one mom who is pushing her children b/c she never made it anywhere herself and at her kids auditions she pushes over her headshot and resume also ...

i saw that VH1 special..that mother..if you open up the dictionary and looked up the word "PSYCHO" you'd find her photo (before mine hehe) jk... she was nuts!!!! If that was my mom, I would of run away a long time ago..I felt so bad for her kids. If I didn't make it in life yes i'd be sad but, I wouldn't be jealous of my kids nor try to live my life through theirs.
