Hey everyone,
well I saw wicked yesterday during the matinee and Kendra was out but I saw Katie and OMG she was spot on, holy cow, and her comedic time was superb except for a lyric messup in For Good. Steph was well ...... Amazing she gave me chills and had me and my two friends in the palm of her hand the whole show, meaning she could make us get teary eyed or laugh hysterically on command almost, and she is the sweetest thing at the stage door. Well I want to go back and see it but I was either going to go try the lotto or try cancellation tickets, but I dont know what to expect from either can any one help, like how much are cancellation tickets and what time etc... same for the lotto. Thanks.

the lotto is INSANE, but I have won it before, so it IS possible, well, duhhhh, someone has to win it.
jinx, jinx, jinx!
Ok, there Popular- I've just insured your next three wins. :)
DG2- if you do get Maria instead of Jenna Maria is good too- I got Maria and Kendra one night and they did possibly the most hilarious "Popular" I've ever seen. And then Maria fell during "Wonderful," but she and David Garrison just kept going- absolute professionals, after the show I had to tell my friend who had never seen it 'yeah, she wasn't really supposed to fall right there,' they'd completely just worked it into their moves.
I've never heard that rumour about them going through the entries after the winners are called and pulling you out of the theatre if your name is/was in there twice, that would be so awesome if it is true! I shall have to keep an eye out and see if I see anyone being pulled out in the future. And then maybe spread that rumour a bit the next time I'm in line, to cut down on those thinking of doing it...
The cannot pull you out of the theater once you have paid. That is ridiculous to even consider.
I have done the L.A. Wicked cancellation line only once, so take any advice I give with that disclaimer.
- there are two different price levels, either $89/tix or $127/tix (I believe it's 127, it might be 125 or 129, somewhere in that range)
- the time my friend and I did it we got in line at 10:30am for the 2pm show. We were #s 1 and 2 in line, supposedly they were expecting to be able to get 20 people in that show.
- We were told that what is available when it's your turn at the window is what you get, so you don't get to choose btwn getting $89 tix and getting $127 tix. Or it might be two single seats instd of 2 seats together, etc. So we were warned to think about what we wanted to spend, and if you don't like what they have available when it's your turn you have to step out of line, you only get the one shot at the window.
- Although the college kids who were #s 3 and 4 in our line got to the window and were offered the $127 tix, but they pleaded poverty and were sold $89 tix.
- (I believe) they're all ORCH seats: my friend and I got row S, the college kids got row Z all $89/tix, those $127 tix that they passed up were in row F (Pantages ORCH seating starts with row A at the stage and works back from there, although a couple of letters are skipped)
- doors opened at 1pm, we got our tix at 1:15/1:20ish.
We were the last to get tickets at 7:57 (!) for an 8:00PM show. We got in line at 4:00, and the tickets were $125 each. We sat in the THIRD ROW of center orchestra....worth every penny! The man who was helping answer questions said there was usually 5-20 tickets available in the cancellation line...but no guarantees.
I really want to enter the lotto, just cuz Wicked is so awesome. But the only way I'd do it is if I was in LA allready, or had something else to do there if the lottery didn't work out.

do you think houston will be as bad? im getting advance tickets but considering going up and trying some matinee lotteries for the heck of it
Yes, I think Houston will be "as bad". Once people see this show, the news spreads quickly. When tickets first went public in LA, there were seats available each day. After the show began, the shows all sold out quickly.

I went to the lottery this past Wednesday evening, arrived at like 5pm, and while waiting the crowd grew to well over 100 people. And of course, Stephanie Block was out there waiting again. She was quite nice, and didn't seem annoyed at all talking with all the fans. And what do you know, I was the second name they called. It was the fourth time I had seen the show, being lucky enough to see it in it's pre-broadway form in San Francisco, then again on Broadway, and now twice in Los Angeles. But this was the first time I ever tried doing the lottery. But to have over 100 people in the middle of the week, I can only imagine how mad it must get on the weekends.
How was the lotto this past weekend? Any winners here?
My daughter's voice teacher said he heard a rumor that Idina was coming back for the last week of the LA run, but I am 99.9% sure that would NEVER happen. (Although, if true, I will be lining up in that cancellation line at 6:00AM!) Oh well, one could hope!

I tried the lotto the day they had the Wicked autograph signing the first week they were here, and I was surprised that there were only about 40 people there. I did win, so yay! But I had a ticket for this past Saturday and I heard from some people that the lottery just keeps growing anf growing. It's making me rethink about driving up to LA (it's about 45 minutes) on an off chance I might win the lotto.
I have to say though, Stephanie and Kendra are still my favourite duo in the leads. I've seen it four times - twice in Toronto, and twice here in LA. I've seen Emily in the Galinda role, and Kendra was just so much more charismatic. She was hilarious this past Saturday. She's grown a lot into her character as well since I've seen them in Toronto. I also saw Jenna Leigh Green, and though she did seem to do decently, nothing compares to Stephanie in my book. Jenna is so sweet, but she had a lot of troule with the lower notes. (That and she messed up on some of the lyrics to No Good Deed.)
I also saw Kristy Cates on her last day in Toronto - and she was really good. So anyone who sees her in Chicago, consider yourself lucky!
I did the lotto Sat 7/16, both matinee and evening, won evening. I'd guess-timate that the crowd was about 75ish people for both (good size, but I've seen it much more crowded). Didn't try Sunday; trying again on Wed with another friend who has never seen it, (I am introducing them all to it), hopefully she has that beginner's lotto luck.
I did the lottery Sunday night. About 120 people, and I didn't win. But on Thurday 7/14 I won with about 300 people there, so it seems my odds get better with more Ozians there. Steph was there trying get in too, but she didn't win.
My niece did both afternoon show this past weekend. She won on Sunday, she said the crowds were about 150 strong.
HAHA, That was us!
I was reading and read that you had a book.. i was like...hmm a woman with a book?.. was it harry potter?! lol..
aww yeah we pleaded poverty and luckily they let us get something cheaper haha... thank god!!!
Hey it's the college kids! Yes, that was me with the Harry Potter book in the cancellation line- hey, I got through 120something pages of that sucker waiting in line!
How's the Tabasco? :)
This may be a dumb question (and a tad off topic) but is San Fransico doing a lottery?
My friend lives in Cali and she's going back to visit her parents while it's in SF, and tickets are pretty much sold out...so
are they doing lottery there?
oh the tabasco is good... still unused though.. he feels deprived..
im going back on sunday haha... i will bring chips in honor of you.
