Posted: 2/4/07 at 10:45pmWhy? She has said it is her dream role and she wants to play it when the opportunity comes up again. (Sorry, don't have a link. It might have been a BWW article).

Posted: 2/4/07 at 10:48pmShe has said that, but if she is to leave SA anytime soon (which I don't see happening), her best career move would be to accept another role to originate, not to replace a replacement in the replacement production of a musical that closed 3 years ago.

I was thinking about this recently. I wouldn't say something like "I doubt it"--in a recent interview here on BWW she does talk about how it will always be a dream of hers to play Eponine, so it has to have crossed her mind that the role she was originally offered will be right there whenever she leaves Spring Awakening. But Foster is right--as much as I, other BWWers, and even Lea herself might love to see her in the role, she would be wise to stay away from it and go on to originate new roles. Don't mean to sound like a snob, because I love Les Miz, but it would be almost beneath her. She needs to get a few more things under her belt first...otherwise a turn as a replacement Eponine would seem like a step backwards.

i disagree... no offense.
if someone has the oppertunity to play their DREAM role, they most often will take it (damn i know i would) Seeing as Eponine is her dream role, I would not be supprised at ALL if she performs it on broadway (granted, if she gets the oppertunity.) Yes originating roles is DEFFINATELY a higher achievement and such, but there will continue to be new shows, and she can always(and will always) continue auditioning after her les miz stint. Besides, you never know, performing in Les Miz on broadway may be the highest achievemnt she could possibly get(in her mind) if its her dream role.

And "definitely," which is offended at what you did to it.

Posted: 2/5/07 at 5:44pmAlso wouldn't this make her the first Young Cosette/Young Eponine to later play the older role as well? That might be very cool for her.

Posted: 2/5/07 at 5:52pmNot really, although it might be the most high-profile. Raegan Kotz did it on tour and it's happened a few times in the UK. Lea Michele would be the second to do it on Broadway. Brandy Brown (OBC cover for all three kids) played Eponine at 15.
