hey guys... i was on the telecharge website and saw they had tickets for $29 for this show.. i know, i know, i have heard bad things about it here (read)??!! but still wanted to check it out... how is the balcony at this theater?? can we see at least some facial expressions or we will just be listening to music and seeing people moving downstairs?? appreciate it!

Posted: 4/27/12 at 2:24pmTo answer your actual question, I've sat in the front balcony at that theater for AMERICAN IDIOT and the view was really good. The speakers blocked my view of the highest level of the set, but LEAP doesn't have many levels, so you'll be fine.

I was in center mezzanine and it was a constant annoyance how much of the action took place too far downstage to fully see (causing everyone to lean forward in their seats, which in turn made it even harder to see). There's also a lot of cast/audience interaction that's lost on the peanut gallery. I usually prefer mezzanine seats to orchestra, but not in this case. (Just my opinion, obviously.)
Oh, and from the mezzanine the stage floor and "set" are quite possibly the most amateurish thing I've ever seen on Broadway. I certainly hope it all looks better from down below.
