lights off on Bway...

does anyone know who they turned off the lights for on Bway, in memoriam? Not dimmed... but fully turned off?

If I remember correctly, in Broadway The American Musical, it was said that when Oscar Hammerstein II passed away the lights on Broadway went dark. They were also dimmed in London the same day -- the only time that has ever happened, I believe.
