O.K. I just took the nieces to the Lion King show. I found it a bit overblown in some spots but otherwise pretty good. The leads were really fine vocally. BUT WHAT the heck is it with "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" It was slow, it was out of place from the rest of the choreography with the Cirque de Soleil style actobatics in the air. What were they supposed to be ? & the 2 leads just sheepishly eye each other without singing til the last chorus. What a waste. Is this how its staged in other editions? Yea, that's what it's like in New York.

Did you buy the souvenier program? They discuss the staging of that number in the book. I don't have it with me at work but I'll see if I can find it at home in the next couple of days.

No. I gave the kids an option as to what they wanted to buy as a memento & they chose the doll versions of Nala & ZaZu. Any insite would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks!
