One thing that I have noticed in terms of going to the theatre is that sometimes the kids are smarter and behave better than the parents. I remember witnessing the same thing both at a performance of Beauty and the Beast and Mary Poppins. The mother assumed that, due to the child's age, they had no clue what was going on. So, the mother took it upon herself to give the kids a running commentary of what was happening on the stage. The kids had a look on their face that read "shut up Mom, we're trying to watch the show."
I think that sometimes kids know more/ behave better than given credit for sometimes.
