Louise Is here to help!!!
Louise "Gypsy Rose Lee" Hovick: I said turn it off! Nobody laughs at me, because I laugh first. At me. Me from Seattle. Me with no education. Me with no talent, as you've kept reminding me my whole life! Well, Mama, look at me now. Look! Look where I live. Look at my friends. Look where I'm going. I'm not staying in burlesque, I'm moving. Maybe up maybe down. But wherever I'm going, I'm having the time of my life, because for the first time, it is my life! And I love it! I love every second of it! I am Gypsy Rose Lee! And I love her! And if you don't you can just clear out! Now!

Posted: 12/6/04 at 7:36pmif you are in or near NY, you can get it at any theater store/ drama bookshop... possibly also Barnes & Noble. I've seen it in the one on 5th avenue.

Posted: 12/6/04 at 7:38pmyea- i know there was a paperback version published recently with the revival, so you might be able to track it down in bookstores, but sadly becuase those sections of bookstores are so small, you would have better luck online. if you live in new york (or LA) you can stop by some of the great theatre bookstores. "broadway new york" under the marriott marquee is a good one (where i bought mine). Updated On: 12/6/04 at 07:38 PM

Posted: 12/6/04 at 10:25pmThere's a book I have called "Ten Great Musicals of the American Theatre" that includes the scripts and lyrics to classic shows like GYPSY, FIDDLER..., WEST SIDE STORY, KISS ME KATE, OF THEE I SING, and some others. It's a great have.
